Episode 5 -The Mighty Gorge

Columbia River Gorge - Hood River, OR.
The race was held in beautiful Hood River, Oregon. The 2024 edition rode 350 miles through and around the majestic gorge, with abundant views of Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood. This edition included single track and gravel road mountain biking, mountaineering, rock climbing, challenging hiking, tumultuous whitewater, waterfalls, difficult orienteering and some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country. Welcome to “America's Most Scenic Race”.
○ 3 Trekking stages: 100km/+4000m (mix of trail, off trail, lava, caves)
○ 6 MTB stages: 300km/+7000m (forest road and purpose built singletrack as well as multi-use singletrack)
○ 3 Paddling stages: 80km (all moving water, class I thru III- packrafting, class IV guided)
○ 2 to 3 ropes elements: Top rope/fixed rope/rappel
